I paint sunflowers and blossoms in oil, chasing that one moment when light passes through a petal and makes it glow. That moment is what made me fall in love with oil paint, and it is what I most want to hand over to you.

Realism is not a gift you are born with. It is a sequence of steps: choosing your materials, building a composition, mixing colour that stays clean, reading light and shadow, controlling your edges, and knowing when a painting is finished. Every one of those steps can be taught, and I teach all of them.
